Who We Are
Here at American-Iraqi English for Reconciliation (AIER), we are an institute driven by a single goal; to do our part in making the world a better and safer place. We aim to bring two nations together by providing Americans an opportunity to converse with ordinary Iraqis. We strive to build productive relationships and make a positive impact on all of our pursuits, as we create a hub for people-to-people facilitation of cultural, language, personal and professional exchanges.
Here at American-Iraqi English for Reconciliation (AIER), we aim to promote reconciliation between the people of the United States and Iraq in response to the devastation affecting Iraqi families, society and culture. AIER recognizes the common humanity of the people of Iraq and the people of the United States and hopes to build bridges over walls. Learn more about our vision and how we go about making the changes we want to see.
Let us widen the circle of those able to come to Iraq. This has been an idea of ours for quite some time. Peace-minded people from the States, who understand the grief over the suffering US war-making has caused others, come to Najaf for at least a month to speak English, live and interact with families and share a rich history, culture and lifestyle. This is the first step in creating a more wholesome global society. We strive to one day break down social barriers and create neighborly relationships.
